Sani Lodge, a trusted Responsible Fair Trade Tourism destination, has been time getting ready to welcome guests by implementing the strict Covid-19 hygiene protocols for the hospitality industry designed by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa and the Grading Council of South Africa. The standard operational procedures are detailed in a 50page document.

Simone Suchet, the co-owner of Sani Lodge is the official Covid-19 Health and Safety Officer. As a trained Health Professional Pharmacist, accustomed to high hygiene standards, getting to grips with the new regulations has not been too onerous yet they do require the full understanding and cooperation of not only staff but also guests. This is perfectly doable and just needs a mental adjustment to the new way of travelling for all concerned .

Guests will be asked to complete a screening questionnaire and have their temperature taken with our infra-red thermometer on arrival. We ask that all guests come equipped with facemasks. The role of guests in Covid safety will be clearly explained.

Our staff have been trained in all aspects of Covid transmission; social distancing, hand sanitisation, how to wear and remove PPE provided for them, laundry procedure, guest bedrooms and public areas cleaning protocol, restaurant protocol, food handling, kitchen hygiene.

The procedure for Guests or staff displaying Covid-19 symptoms will be implemented when and if necessary.

Sani Lodge has been hosting a few Essential Workers during Lockdown and all the Health and Safety protocols already put into practice. We are confident that these measures implemented at our well-known Lodge which has provided a trusted mountain holiday destination for travellers for the past 28 years, will fulfil your need to be reassured when you plan your holiday schedule.

We look forward to hosting you and are accepting future bookings for our four self-catering cottages, 4 rondavels en-suite and the group facility. None of these units will be shared with guests from other groups. The dormitories may only be reserved if people from the same group share and a maximum of two people instead of four will be in there. Please email us if you have any questions.
