Guinea-Fowl Cottage

ROOM DESCRIPTION

A compact thatched family cottage that suits 2 adults on a double bed and 2 children on bunk beds. This dwelling is traditionally built in the African style, using poles, clay and thatch grass. These natural materials create a structure that is well-insulated against summer heat and winter cold. There are two bedrooms; one with a double bed and the second small room has 2 bunk beds. Feather duvets, electric blankets and bath towels are provided. Swimming towels are available from the Lodge reception. The fully equipped kitchen has a stove, oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, pots, crockery, and cutlery. All guest comforts are taken care of by providing tea, filter coffee, books, games, wine glasses and toiletries. A jug of fresh farm milk from our hand-milked Jersey cows, is in the fridge to make you feel at home right away. Behind the cottage is the unfenced stream that supplies our drinking water. The front area has a braai stand and outdoor seating. Ntshitshi cottage, Francolin and Hoopoe rondavels are close by. If you are looking for a cottage with a log fireplace, mountain views and a Hot Tub, please look at Honeyguide or Aloe cottages. Guinea Fowl is serviced daily at no extra charge. Solar panels on the property ensure an uninterrupted power supply. NOTE: This cottage may be booked for a minimum of 2 people. Please contact us directly if your group is less than 4. If you would prefer to treat yourself to a real holiday, the on-site restaurant offers wholesome meals including breakfast, lunch and a 3 course set menu for dinner. No pets allowed as our land borders the Drakensberg Mountains World Heritage Site.
