ROOM DESCRIPTION

The thatch rondavel is a traditional African dwelling, taking is name from its round shape. There is a table with outdoor seating. Captivating mountain views from your double bed make this a great romantic getaway and perfect base for your 'Berg exploration. Set alongside a copse of indigenous trees you may hear the "tap tap" of the woodpecker bird after which this rondavel has been named. A feather duvet, a heater for winter and bath towels are provided. Swimming towels are available from the Lodge reception. A tray with a kettle, tea and filter coffee makes you feel at home right away. We provide creamy farm milk from our own herd of Jersey cows. The central shared guest kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, pots, crockery, and cutlery. The shared guest lounge is well suited to the Drakensberg winters with a wood-burning fireplace in the open plan lounge / dining room area. There is a central guest braai boma area. The unit is serviced daily at no extra charge. Solar panels on the property ensure an uninterrupted power supply. The on-site restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and a 3 course dinner.
